The diagnosis of tuberous sclerosis is not difficult when the classic triad of seizures, adenoma sebaceum, and mental retardation is present. Study of the genetic pattern of tuberous sclerosis has emphasized the occurrence of forme fruste, or atypical cases lacking one or more components of the triad. We observed an abortive case of tuberous sclerosis in a non-epileptic adult of normal intelligence who exhibited clinical manifestations of adenoma sebaceum and psychotic symptoms. The psychiatric symptoms were consisted of autistic thinking, ideas of reference, suspiciousness, destructive and impulsive behaviours, all of which were revealed as schizo¡©phrenic symptoms. The histopathology of the skin lesions showed fibrosis and proliferation of collagen which conformed the diagnosis of tuberous sclerosis.
